Welcome to Flathead Fiber Arts—the educational side of More Than Threads.
We believe creativity is meant to be experienced—not just admired. Our classes are designed to introduce students of all ages to the rewarding world of fiber arts through hands-on learning, encouraging instruction, and creative exploration.
Whether you're learning to knit for the first time or exploring weaving, spinning, embroidery, sewing, and felting, my goal is to guide you through a creative journey that builds confidence, develops practical skills, and inspires a lifelong love of handmade craftsmanship. More than anything, these classes are about cultivating curiosity, creativity, and the joy of making something with your own hands. These classes are perfect for anyone looking for homeschool enrichment, a new hobby, or a creative community.
Knitting is the foundation of our program, but students will also be introduced to the vast world of fiber arts, including crochet, sewing, weaving, needle felting, embroidery, fiber preparation, spinning, and more. Throughout the year, we'll explore color, texture, pattern, and design while discovering how simple fibers can become beautiful works of art.
Below you can find information on our children's classes, adult classes, and special services.

What parents are saying...
Unisha is truly a special teacher. She is not only an incredibly talented artist but also has a wonderful gift for connecting with children and nurturing their creativity with so much patience, kindness, and encouragement. Thanks to her, my now 8-year-old has developed a genuine love for the fine arts that continues to grow.
Watching my child gain confidence, express creativity, and look forward to every class has been such a joy. If you're looking for a meaningful hobby for yourself or your child—one that can bring happiness and fulfillment for years to come—I can't recommend Unisha's classes enough.
-Kristin Baller
After taking the fiber classes this school year, my daughters and I have been amazed by just how broad and fascinating the world of textiles truly is. It has been such an eye-opening experience to learn the many skills and steps involved in harvesting and processing fiber—from the animal all the way to the finished garment or household item we use every day.
More than anything, we’ve loved the creativity, exploration, and hands-on learning that fiber arts offer for all ages. I have personally fallen in love with the world of wool: from shearing, washing, and processing, to spinning and creating. What started as curiosity has completely changed our world and even inspired a new venture for our family.
I am so grateful to Unisha for sparking the journey with crochet squares into animals and to Tracy for sharing her incredible depth of knowledge about the fiber world. The classes this year have covered everything you could ever want to explore, and we have absolutely LOVED every minute of it.

Have you ever wondered how wool becomes yarn? Have you wanted to knit something beautiful for yourself? Learn to sew on a sewing machine? Try embroidery, weaving, spinning, or needle felting?
Or perhaps you already enjoy one fiber art and would love the opportunity to expand your skills while learning alongside other creative people.
This class was created for you.
Beginning with knitting as our foundation, we'll gradually explore additional fiber arts based on the interests of the class. Each semester builds on the previous one, allowing students to continue growing in confidence and skill as they develop their own creative style.
